We’ve just switched hosting companies, but we’ve got to sort out a kink or two–so you’ll find that the search, results, browse, and info pages are temporarily down. We’ll have this taken care of tomorrow afternoon, as all of the DNS changes take effect. Thanks for being patient, and we’ll keep you updated as to how things are unfolding!
Our site is now proudly powered by Laughing Squid, and all of the problems we’ve been having with our old hosting company have been not only resolved, but completely removed. You’ll probably notice that the site will be faster, and it will be able to handle more traffic much more easily. Their use of modern MySQL installations and up-to-date PHP also lets us add more features to our online store than we ever could before. In short, all of these improvements will serve to make your experience on our site more enjoyable and intuitive.
Thanks again for reading, and happy Sunday!

The online store is now open–our makeup inventory is for sale!

That’s right…we’ve got our online store started, and all the makeup inventory you’ve been passively browsing through is now available for purchase. All you’ve got to do to buy something is click on the nifty “Add to Cart” button that has appeared under each product’s price on its information page–and it will show up in your shopping cart on the right side of the screen. To checkout, just click on “Checkout with PayPal”, but don’t worry; you don’t have to have a PayPal account (though it makes things a little bit quicker). PayPal accepts all major credit cards, and their site is completely secured. As soon as you pay through PayPal, we’ll receive notification of your order and ship it right away. We can only ship during our store hours, though–and you can see those just to the left side of this page.
If you’ve got any questions, don’t hesitate to send us an email or check out our FAQs page.
In other exciting news–we’ve got our Leg Avenue shipment in for Halloween! We’ve already organized and priced everything, and as soon as we get the stock photography from the manufacturer we’ll have those on the site for purchase as well. It’s actually several hundred costumes, not counting the several other manufacturers and lines of costumes that we also carry. Those will be on the site soon!
Thanks again for reading, and remember to bookmark us or subscribe to our site to keep make sure you don’t miss anything new!
You may have noticed a new feature on our site–look to your left–and you’ll see “Product Search”! We’ve finally moved the blog to our dedicated servers, and linked the blog to our database, allowing all of our customers to search our inventory for products, read descriptions, find out prices, and whatever else they’d need to do. If you’d like to see particular features in the search process (be it the search page, results pages, or product pages) just let us know at costumecurio@gmail.com. We’ll do our best to make this as intuitive as possible, and look for a shopping cart in the near future.
The only inventory online now is the majority of our makeup stock–well over 500 products. But for now, some pages will not have a product image (but we’re working on that, and hope to have all of the images in by the end of the week). Let us know if you have any problems, and as always, we’ll keep you updated as to how things are coming along. Our top priorities now are adding all of our product images and finishing configuring our shopping cart–allowing our customers to purchase makeup online through PayPal, using their own PayPal account or any major credit card.
Thanks again for reading!
We’ve been working on the new site some more–obviously–and can now state that some real progress is being made–the search engine is fully functioning, the results pages are up and running, and the product page templates are almost done. We’re going to put our energy into the layouts at this time, as all we’ve really got to do (other than that) is add products to our database (which, we apologize, will take some time).
Currently, we’ve automated the prices, names, manufacturers, sizes, colors, descriptions–and even the pictures! This means that each page will load extremely fast, and all we’ve got to do to update our stock is change a value or two in our database; meaning that we will be able to keep our stock updated in almost real time (and no more waiting for new products).
During this time, we’ll also be adding a PayPal system into our product pages that will allow our customers to purchase our products online, and have them shipped directly.
Thank you again to all of our customers for being so patient during our web development. Look for more updates soon, as we really start to dig into getting this database built!
We hope no one–since we put some up and all. Check out our Photos page if you’d like to see some; so far, we’ve got “La Boheme” as presented by Converse College, as well as “Pirates of Penzance” as presented by Furman University. Both of these schools have fantastic opera programs–if you want more information, be sure to stop by their sites: this is the Furman Department of Music’s page, and here’s Converse Opera Theatre’s site.
Both of the shows were fantastic; we definitely recommend catching any of their shows if you get the chance.
Anyway, we’ll be uploading more photos soon, as we find time to do so.
We’re trying to make information about our company, and what we have, and what we do, more accessible and easy to follow. You can now check us out on the Facebook, follow us on Twitter, or just subscribe to our RSS feed here.
This way, you’ll be in the know as soon as when we get our new shipments of costumes, makeup, and a plethora of other accessories–and get first dibs on those items. After all, we’re expecting our shipments from Disguise, and Rubie’s soon, as well as our massive Leg Avenue order.
Also look out for our posts on upcoming shows (but don’t expect too many of those during the summer) and info on the many Halloween parties and haunted trails we’ll be costuming–we’ll let you know when these are happening as soon as we get the info ourselves.
We’ve got a FAQ now as well, so if you’d just like the rundown on our business, or want to have your general questions answered, you can head over there now.
Remember to check back or subscribe if you don’t want the hassle of checking manually.
Again, if you’ve got any questions at all, give us a call at 864.271.4260 during our business hours
or email us anytime.
